Meet the people who make The Weavers Project a tapestry of hope and skill.”

Sophal
Sophal is the backbone of Weavers operations. She is the studio manager responsible for everything from operations to quality, accounts, inventory, etc. Before joining the project in 2016, she worked in a garment factory in a city far from her home. An accountant by education, she has been the most valuable team member, impacting many lives.

Mov
Mov is also one of our first artisans to join the team of seven women in 2013. She has been an amazing role model of change in the village. Her story is amazing as she went through a major change and became a catalyst for change. She has am amazingly positive outlook which is contagious.

Chamreoun
Cahmreoun joined the team in 2021 after the pandemic changed so many things in Cambodia. She had never done weaving before and learnt it within weeks. She is also one of our most recent team members.

Thy
One of our first artisans to join the team of seven women in 2013. She has been an amazing role model of change in the village.

Sophea
Sopheap joined the team in 2017 after she witnessed a positive change in the life of Thy, who walked past her house everyday. Thea who has been part of the project since day one.

Sarim
One of our first artisans to join the team of seven women in 2013. She has been an amazing role model of change in the village.

Roun
Run joined the team in 2018 after she witnessed a positive change in the life of her neighbour who has been part of the project since day one.

Sopheap
Sopheap joined the team in 2017 after she witnessed a positive change in the life of Thy, who walked past her house everyday. Thea who has been part of the project since day one.

Oun
Oun is the head of Meas Family who started the Weavers project in their village and has been supporting the local community for decades. She is the real change maker and has been supporting the Weavers since day one.

Siphen and Mach
Co-founders of the project who had worked in Cambodia since the Khmer Rouge as teachers. They continue to support the community though their knowledge and experience.

Linda
Co-founder who is responsible for running the entire operation of the project that extends beyond weaving workshop.

Paul
Co-founder and social entrepreneur who started Sonas World, a social business focusing on various social impact start-ups in Cambodia since 2013.
