HOW WE DO IT....

FOUR STEPS TO PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT

1. Income Generation - Entrepreneurship  not Handouts.
Artisans earn 40% of the sale price of scarves upfront, no matter if these are sold or not. And, 100% of the profits are invested back into the community.
2. Education - Investing in the Future.
Profits from the retail of our scarves fund the education of Artisan's children and further talent development of the adults to increase the impact.
3. Health & Wellbeing - Of the Family (Mind, Body, Soul)
Savings are invested back into improving the health & wellbeing ( of the families. This helps to break through the limiting mindset that can keep us trapped in Scarcity for lifetimes.
4. Improved Living  - Places to Live and Grow Together.
Poor living conditions are proven to have a deep impact on our minds. The savings lead to improved living conditions and hence a better life.

FOUR PILLARS OF EMPOWERING FABRIC

Subtext2

ARTISAN DIRECT

Can you imagine that only 10 scarves can pay for the university scholarship of one student for a year? We are weaving communities in rural Cambodia and you are connecting directly to us. This allows us the transparency that is very rare through conventional supply chain models. All the profits are invested back into education, wellbeing, and improving the living conditions.

Subtext2

BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED

Contrary to the facts, Handicrafts usually have a bad reputation for poor quality and low durability. Thisis due to the fact that handicraft sector is highly fragmented and under-represented. Our purpose is to create a culture of entrepreneurship at the grassroots level that incorporates design thinking to create beautiful products that are high quality, long-lasting and useful.

Subtext3

ECO-CONSCIOUS

We grow our raw materials using permaculture methods. This allows us to make environmentally friendly products that last for life. This means a very low environmental impact over the life-cycle of our products. We also up-cycle any leftover yarn into beautiful products such as floor and table mats. We use simple techniques that require no electricity and other polluting energy sources.

Subtext4

IMPACTFUL

Many brands promise to give back 1% of their profits for social causes and for ethically sourcing . Quite often, the makers of the products get less than 0.5% of the retail price. Our innovative model allows us to bring 90% of the sales revenue to our villages, which is then invested back into scaling the impact through education, scholarships, and more start-ups.

Frequently Questions Asked

Are you a Charity?

No, we are a Social Business. We believe that we do not need donations, we need personal empowerment. Entrepreneurship is a great vehicle for achieving fulfillment and personal power.

How was the idea started?

Cambodia has a long history of struggle and war and it damaged the once-thriving handicraft cottage industry. Cambodia became known for misery and AID. This was damaging and did not make us feel good about ourselves. We wanted to change this perception about Cambodia. So, we started to work on a revival of traditional skills of handicrafts.
